I offer a short initial phone call (free of charge) and then may suggest an initial session for you to explain further what brings you to therapy and I will ask you questions about yourself and your life history. During this session we can both see if we feel we can work together on an ongoing basis to explore your concerns more deeply.
I offer in-person, online or phone sessions, depending upon the current Covid-19 guidelines, we can discuss this in an initial phone call.
Together we can decide upon ongoing sessions. These are normally once a week at the same time and same day. Each session will be 50 minutes and if you are late the sessions will still end at the appointed time. We can discuss whether we feel short-term (6 sessions or so) or longer term work is likely to be more beneficial. For therapy to be most effective it is important that both therapist and client are equally committed to the work.
Please enquire about my fee per 50 minute session. I ask that you either bring this to each session as cash or that you transfer me the money online in advance of the session (I can provide bank details) or for several sessions. I offer a limited number of low-cost places for students and trainees, these would usually be during the daytime.
I offer both daytime and evening appointments but please note that evening appointments get very booked up so I can be more flexible if you are able to attend sessions during the daytime.
If you need to cancel your session I ask for 24 hours notice otherwise I will charge you the full amount for the missed session. Where advance notice has been given I may be able to offer you a replacement session in the same week at a mutually convenient time. I will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible if I am unable to make the session. I usually take time off over Christmas, Easter and during the summer.
